Sprout Circus - Dirt To Dish

A hands-on food literacy experience for Grades JK–8

Sprout Circus transforms your gym into a buzzing learning lab where students cook, taste, and grow their food knowledge. Through playful, curriculum-linked workshops in cooking, gardening, safety, and nutrition, kids gain confidence, teamwork, and real-life skills they’ll carry beyond the classroom. Nut-aware programming ensures every student can participate safely while discovering the joy of food.

Program Format

This spring, give your students a memorable, hands-on field trip; right in your own gym or multipurpose space. Sprout Circus brings everything needed to deliver interactive, curriculum-friendly workshops that fit seamlessly into your school day. All equipment, ingredients, and facilitators are provided, so teachers can focus on the learning outcomes while students dive into the experience.

  • Designed for Kindergarten–Grade 8 (age-appropriate workshops by division)

  • 3–4 rotating stations ( approx. 40–45 minutes each) per class

  • Includes a snack-making station prepared by students

  • Works in a gym/multipurpose room, with optional outdoor/garden station

  • Flexible scheduling to align with your school timetable

  • Nut-aware programming to keep all students safe

  • Pricing: $10–15 per student

  • All payments due on day of scheduled event.

Sample Day Schedule (adaptable to your bell times)

  • 9:45 AM – Arrival & setup

  • 10:00 AM – Welcome & safety briefing

  • 10:15 – 1:30 PM – Rotating workshops (3–4 per class)

  • Snack Station – Prepared by students as one rotation

  • Lunch – Students eat their own bag lunch

  • 1:40 – 2:00 PM – Wrap-up & learning reflection

  • 2:15 PM – Program end
