COOKSMART teaches hands-on cooking, baking, and nutrition skills in a fun, supportive environment. Our programs go beyond recipes. Kids and teens also learn life skills like teamwork, safety, financial literacy, and confidence in the kitchen.

Yes. All COOKSMART programs are nut-free, and we take extra care to accommodate allergies whenever possible. Please let us know about any dietary restrictions when registering.

We run programs across Mississauga and Oakville, with seasonal camps and school-based workshops throughout the GTA. Each program page lists the exact location.

Nope! We provide all the cooking tools, equipment, and ingredients needed. Participants just need to bring their energy and creativity.

Our instructors are experienced educators with backgrounds in nutrition, culinary arts, and youth programming. All staff are screened, trained in food safety, and passionate about inspiring kids.

Parents (Camps & After-School Programs)

Most of our camps and after-school programs are designed for ages 5–12, with special teen programs for ages 12+.

Each session includes hands-on cooking activities, food safety lessons, and opportunities for kids to taste and share what they’ve made. Camps also mix in fun themes, games, and teamwork challenges.

Children learn essential kitchen skills (like measuring, chopping, and following recipes), nutrition basics, and teamwork — all while building confidence and independence.

Yes! Kids enjoy the dishes they prepare in class. For longer programs, we recommend sending a water bottle and nut-free snacks from home.

Schools & Educators (Sprout Circus + Curriculum Programs)

Our workshops are linked to Ontario curriculum goals in health, science, and math, making learning both fun and practical.

We offer programs from Kindergarten to Grade 8, tailored to the developmental needs of each age group.

Workshops typically run 60–90 minutes and can accommodate full classes at a time. We work with schools to adapt sessions to class sizes and schedules.

Yes. Teachers can request a focus on topics like nutrition, gardening, or teamwork, and we’ll tailor activities accordingly.

Absolutely. Our Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program provides mentorship and real hands-on leadership opportunities.
Volunteers & Partners

Volunteers are asked to commit at least 3 weeks during summer camps or for the duration of a seasonal program.

Yes. All volunteers receive training in safety, kitchen basics, and working with children before starting.

We love working with schools, community centers, and organizations that share our mission of teaching life skills. Partnerships can include hosting programs, providing space, or co-developing workshops.
