Turkey a la King

(or Mushroom)

Ingredients:

Vegetables : Choose at least 3 – about 2  cups

Mushrooms, Sweet peppers, Celery

Green peas - frozen

Broccoli, Carrots, Squash

Butter

Flour

1 cup Chicken or Vegetable stock

1 ½ cup Milk or Cream

salt

celery salt

cayenne pepper

Black pepper (to taste)

2 cups cooked turkey or chicken

(Vegetarian version – use Mushrooms, extra 1-2 cup)

1 tsp chopped parsley (optional)

Vol au Vent Pastries -puff pastry (freezer section)

or Rice or Flat noodles

Coleslaw Salad:

Cabbage, carrots, celery, dried cranberries, almonds (sliced)

Dressing:

cider vinegar, honey, mayonnaise, salt & pepper, greek yogurt (optional)

Tools:

Apron

Cutting board

1 Knife – sharp chef and paring knife

Small bowl for food waste

2 medium bowls,

Fork, spoon,

Measuring cups

Measuring spoons

Medium-large pot

Baking sheet for pastry or pot for rice
