Oct 29:

Pizza-oma-dillas

Ingredients:

·        eggs

·        dried herbs (basil, oregano, garlic powder, chives)

·       veggies- Choose 3 (peppers, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, tomatoes, pineapple)

Protein (optional) - pepperoni, ham, salami, chicken, bacon

·        tomato sauce

·        whole wheat flour tortillas

·        Cheese - mozzarella, cheddar cheese

Frying pan

Flipper

Grater

Nov 5: Taco Salad Bowls

INGREDIENTS:

Lettuce (Romaine or Iceberg)

Roma tomato or grape tomatoes

 1/8 red onion 

 2  tbsp fresh cilantro (optional)

 ½ Cucumber

 1 Pepper

 ½ cup corn (optional)

Avocado (optional)

1 can black beans

Protein: Chicken, ground beef (cooked) -optional

Cheddar cheese

French or Catalina salad dressing

1 tsp Cumin

¼ tsp Chile powder

½ tsp Garlic powder

½ tsp salt

1 lime 

1 cup Corn chips

Large soft tortilla - to make bowl

Veggies: Choose at least 3

INGREDIENTS:

Rice - short-grain (uncooked or cooked)

water

Olive oil

Salt

Sugar

Mirin or rice vinegar

Nori sheets

3 BRIGHT COLOURS (choose at least 3)

· Peppers, carrots, cucumber, avocado

Your favourite fillings

Soy sauce

Wasabi or picked ginger (optional)

Nov 26: Alfredo Pasta

.INGREDIENTS:

Pasta - uncooked small pieces any shape

Butter or olive oil

Onion

garlic or garlic powder

Soup broth

Milk

Cream cheese or Whipping Cream (optional)

Flavours: CHOOSE FROM

- Tomato, mushroom, meat or chicken

- Fresh or dried basil, lemon zest, nutmeg or chile flakes

Parmesan Cheese

2-3 cups veggies – CHOOSE FROM:

broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, peppers, spinach, shredded carrot, or green peas

salt and black pepper

INGREDIENTS:

Flour - whole wheat or all-purpose

Sugar or honey

Yeast

Water

Salt

Olive oil

Tomato sauce or pureed tomatoes

Oregano, basil, garlic powder,chile

· Protein of your choice

Cheese – mozzarella or cheddar – non-shredded

Dec 10: Chicken Noodle Soup

INGREDIENTS:

·        olive oil

·        1 onion

·        2 carrots

·        2 celery stalks

·        500 g raw chicken, breast or thigh – skin & fat removed, bone-in or boneless

·        4 cups or 1 L broth or water

·        1 cup Noodles –angel hair pasta vermicelli or egg noodles

·        1-2 cup optional veggies

·        ¼ cup fresh thyme or oregano or fresh dill or 1 TBSP dried

·        1 bay leaf

·        ½ tsp pepper

·        1 tsp lemon juice

·        Salt to taste

·        Parsley to garnish

 

 Optional Extras: leeks, fennel, tomatoes, potatoes, squash, mushrooms, parsnips- add earlier or  green beans, zucchini, broccoli – add these at the end
