April 19:
Grain Bowls
INGREDIENTS:
· 3 or 4 Bright colours of veggies:
Choose from:
carrots, Corn, cucumber, tomaotoes, peppers, celery, green onions, red cabbage, or your favourite
· Protein: 1 can of Black beans or pinto beans, tofu, hard boiled eggs or cooked meat
· Cheddar cheese or other cheese
· 1 Avocado (optional)
· 2 cups of Grain (cooked) – rice, bulgar, quinoa, barley, or pasta
· 3 tablespoons olive oil
· Spices: cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne (or to taste)
or Oregano, basil, garlic powder or your choice!
· Salt & Pepper
· Lemon or Lime -juice or vinegar of any type
· Honey or maple syrup
· Cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

1 large avocado

spinach
ham (optional)

parmesan cheese
pesto (optional)
salt
black pepper
Garnish: Salsa, ketchup, parsley

Fruit salad or compote - apples, berries, pears, mango, kiwi, banana
Lemon juice
Toppings:
Vanilla or plain Greek yogurt
Icing sugar and lemon juice, or maple syrup
Hemp hearts or ground flax seeds (optional)

We will make the traditional brownies, but a non-traditional vegan brownie recipe is included and if you prefer to make it, just notify Kathy via email before the class.
