Kitchen Tools:

  • 2 spoons, 1 cutlery knife

  • Bowls - 2-3 small bowls,, 2 medium bowls

July 8 - Tri-Colour cheesy pasta

INGREDIENTS:

·       butter

Flour

powdered garlic

Dijon mustard

Salt and pepper

Macaroni pasta or short pasta

milk

3 colurs of veggies - Your choice

broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, peppers, spinach, shredded carrot, or green peas, tomatoes

3 types of cheese: - Your choice

Cheddar cheese, mozzerella, cream cheese, feta, goat cheese and parmesan, romano, asiago cheese or your favourite

Special TOOLS:

·Medium fry pan or griddle

Baking dish

July 15 - Pad Thai

INGREDIENTS:

·       1 package of Dried Vermicelli (2-3 mm thick)

·       Sauce or use: Tamarind Puree, brown Sugar, Fish Sauce or Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce 

·       Vegetable or olive Oil 

·       Aromatics: onion, Garlic

Veggies options:

o   Bean sprouts

Green veggies – broccoli, green beans, celery, snow peas, spinach, zucchini

o   Red veggies – red peppers, chiles

o   Yellow veggies – corn, yellow peppers

o   White veggies – mushrooms

PROTEIN OPTIONS: choose 2

o  Eggs, tofu

Chicken, shrimp

  

Topping options:

Garlic Chives or green onions

·      Peanuts (finely chopped)

·       Lime- cut into small wedges

·       Cilantro leaves (optional)

·       Ground Chile powder, flakes or sauce

Special Tools:

Large skillet with lid

Large pot

August 12: Burgers

Ingredients:

Protein - ground meat, can of beans, or tempeh

Onion

Garlic

1 egg

Optional: carrot, mushroom, cheese


Seasonings: Salt, pepper, cumin, chile powder

Olive oil

Flour

Buns - your choice of bun

Toppings: Choose your favourites

Lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion

Cheese

Mustard, relish, ketchup, mayonaisse, barbeque sauce

Special Tools:

Baking sheet or griddle or fry pan

Aug 19: Crepes or pancakes

INGREDIENTS:

CREPES

flour

eggs

milk

water

salt

Butter

OR Savory CHICKPEA Pancakes

besam (chick pea) flour

baking powder

Seasonings: garlic powder, cumin, ground coriander, (pepper flakes-optional), tumeric

warm water

Olive oil

Savoury fillings: CHOOSE at least 3   Scrambled egg, cheese, salsa  or asparagus and cheese sauce, or roasted peppers with goat cheese, green onions, spinach, peppers, grated carrot, mushrooms, or your favourite filling.

Sweet fillings:   vanilla, sugar, fruit - 2 or 3 types - berries, bananas, kiwi, apple, pear, strawberries, blueberries

Top with lemon juice, icing sugar, fruit, cinnamon, whipped cream

Special TOOLS:

1 small-medium frying pan

August 26: One Pan Wonder

Ingredients:

·        olive oil

·      Protein- ground meat or sausage, tempeh or chick peas, tofu

·       aromatics: onion, garlic

·       Fresh herbs

·        Seasonings:

salt, pepper, basil, oregano, pepper flakes, fennel, rosemary, thyme

·       Vegetables -

Hard - Choose 2 - potato, sweet potato, carrot, parsnips, squash

Soft - Choose 2 - mushrooms, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes

Special Tools:

Baking sheet, parchment paper
