Perfect Pancakes

INGREDIENTS:

Flour

butter

eggs

milk

salt

Syrup or icing sugar with lemon jiuce

Fruit - bananas, apples, berries

Greek yogurt

Special TOOLS:

Frying pan

Flipper

February 15:

Burgers

Use either Beans to create delicious veggie burgers or ground meat.

INGREDIENTS:

·        olive oil

·        1 onion

1 carrot

·        2 garlic cloves or minced garlic or garlic powder

·        ground cumin

·        chili powder

Salt and pepper

·        400g can red Kidney or black beans or 400g minced meat

1 egg

flour

chia seeds or corn starch, flour or oatmeal

Buns

Toppings: Choose your favourites!

Cheese, tomato, pickles, lettuce, onion, avocado

Ketchup, mustard, relish and mayonnaise

Special TOOLS:

Frying pan

Wooden spoon or fork or potato masher

Flipper

small plate

Parchment paper (optional)

February 22: Creamy Primavera Pasta

INGREDIENTS:

butter or olive oil

½ onion, diced or thinly sliced

1-2 cloves garlic minced or 1 tsp powdered garlic

1 cup flavour food: CHOOSE FROM:

cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, meat or chicken

2 servings of pasta (2 quarters-sized bunches of straight pasta or 2 cups small)

1 cup broth

1 cup milk

2-3 cups veggies – CHOOSE FROM:

broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, peppers, spinach, shredded carrot, or green peas

¼ cup parmesan cheese - grated (or other cheese)

¼ cup cream cheese or whipping cream (optional)

Seasonings: CHOOSE FROM basil,  lemon zest, nutmeg or chile flakes

ground black pepper

1 medium-large frying pan with lid

March 1: Chocolate Chip Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

all purpose flour

baking soda

salt

1 cup very soft butter - room temperature

white sugar

brown sugar

vanilla

2 eggs

up to 2 cup Chocolate chips

up to 1 cup fun bits – nuts, seeds, dried fruits, hemp hearts, coconut
